Starting in the second grade on classical piano, Dan Bergstrom quickly excelled to the top of his class. Because of his overwhelming love for music, he took up percussion by playing in bands and orchestras from the fifth grade on.Dan studied under greats like Vaslav Nelebele and later under Professor Vagner at the University of Oregon while majoring in Percussion. However, his greatest love became the guitar when he started playing in 1967. During college, "Monster Dan" played guitar, piano and drums in many musicals and plays because of his acute ability to read music.

In 1982, Dan utilized all his talents to start a computer backing tracks sequencing business called Monster Tracks, which is now one of the oldest and most established in the world. Starting on Ensoniq's SQ80 then VFXsd and SD!'s, Dan has turned all of his song library into Standard and General MIDI files on Mac and IBM computer file formats. Dan has produced literally thousands of MIDI backing tracks for live band accompaniment , and has also created a sustantial library of marching band arrangements with accompanying MIDI sequences to help band instructors better teach their students.
The act of sequencing requires playing all the parts of a song, which has established Dan as a highly respected artist by musicians all around the world. They purchase songs from him because of the quality he is able to provide. He has hundreds of originals and nearly 1000 songs expanding through five decades, with new songs being added every day, keeping him current with the ever-changing music scene.
As a performer, Dan's versatility includes dinner sets, 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's, Top 40, R&B, dance music, and old to new country songs. Dan has also released two CDs of his own country and Christian music, and soon will release his first rock album. He continually pleases crowds by having something for everyone.
Dan has recently incorporated into his show the ability to play 10 different instruments (piano, organ, melodica, guitar, slide guitar, five-string banjo, four-string banjo, mandolin, fiddle and drums!), which has made each set unique in its own way. Dan also takes requests and, with his magnetic personality, he is very adaptable in every situation, which makes him able to please crowds young and old alike.
